Alan is a regular presenter on BBC GMR in Manchester. He presents "The Parlour" on Monday between 1900 - 2000. Alan also stands in for other presenters, particularly on Sunday's WOW programme, and is shown here broadcasting live from the City of Manchester Stadium during the Commonwealth Games 2002.

Alan also has stong links with the Manchester Irish Community, and has obtained four separate Restriced Service Licenses (RSLs) for temporary radio stations within Greater Manchester starting in 1994, before continuing as Station Manager on each occasion.

Alan currently lectures in Media at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.
